Kristen Votta, M.Ed., M.S.
Kristen has been in the field of education for over 15 years. She graduated from Providence College with a double major in elementary and special education and a minor in business studies. She has a master’s degree from North Carolina State University in curriculum design and instruction with a concentration in literacy, and is set to graduate with a master’s degree from Pepperdine University in the summer of 2024. She has worked in various educational settings, from public and private schools to hospitalized and self-contained placements.
In 2019, Kristen left the classroom to create her own educational consulting firm, Raleigh Educational Coaching (REC). The company serves families and students in grades K-12. It offers intervention tutoring services, special needs advocacy, and strategic college planning. Since its inception, REC has helped countless triangle families with various educational needs.
Kristen is currently a licensed K-12 educator and special educator in North Carolina. She is trained and certified in several multi-modal reading intervention programs such as Hill Rap,Orton Gillingham, and EBLI. She is completing her board certification in special needs advocacy through the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET). In the future, Kristen plans to continue her education to pursue her PhD in School Psychology. She is happily married and a mother to three beautiful children. She enjoys spending time traveling with her family and embracing new adventures.
